Fiedler Data Explorer

Available. The installation guide installs it from its public image on quay.io.

Fiedler Data Explorer shows the data of IBM Maximo Manage, in the Maximo Application Suite (MAS), along its relationships. It opens in a narrow browser window beside Manage. You start at a record, such as an asset, and follow its relationships: work orders, preventive maintenance, job plans, routes and the location. Each relationship shows how many records it holds.

It reads as you. Every read goes through Manage’s object structures as the user who signed in, so you see exactly the records you may see in Manage.

What it does
#

  • Five views of one graph. Trail shows columns from a start to a record, as the Finder on a Mac does. Tree is the familiar tree. Orbit puts the record in the middle and its relations around it. Timeline puts the dated relations of a record on one time axis. Workbench keeps boards of pinned records.
  • Tiles. A group of records shows as tiles of its counts, by status or another attribute, and a tile opens the records behind it.
  • Chains. An administrator saves a path once, such as an asset’s open work orders and their tasks. A user applies it to any record.
  • Search. The search field answers from the records you have seen, in milliseconds. When it knows nothing, it asks Manage.
  • Open in Manage. A right-click lists the applications you may open the record in, with their actions. Every record opens in one Manage window, and the explorer reuses that window.
  • From Manage to the explorer. Paste a Manage record address into the search field, or drop it on the page, and the explorer opens the record. A launch entry in Manage does the same with one click.
  • Your administrator shapes the graph. One navigation document names the start points, the record types and the relationships. The explorer reads a change without a restart.

Editions
#

Fiedler Data Explorer belongs to Fiedler Data Tools and shares its licence. The free edition has no limits for now. A licence of Fiedler Data Tools shows on the explorer’s screens, as it does in Fiedler Data Import and Fiedler Data Export.

How it runs
#

It follows the design of Fiedler Data Import: a container in the MAS cluster beside Manage, sign-in through MAS, and each user’s own rights in Manage. Three small automation scripts in Manage answer the explorer’s questions about Manage’s metadata. The administration screen installs them with one button.

The installation guide describes every step, from what you need to the removal.
